I'm...Hmmm, I might have to defend the eighties. I'm surprised to say that because I have a bias against pop music that is overproduced or overly theatrical, because I feel like that often doesn't wear well.

I'd concede that the bad pop hits of the eighties were really, really awful. If you want to hold "Freeway of Love" against the entire decade, I won't argue.

But I have affection for songs that are distinctively eighties and also good. I mean, not only is "Bastards Of Young" well written, it gets extra style points for the video.

Secondly, the eighties were clearly better than the nineties (with the caveat that I don't listen to much rap or hip hop so I'm missing some of the best music of the nineties).

But I don't actually need to say that; you have a blog called, "The 80s Didn't Suck" in your links :)NickShttp://www.beforeyoulisten.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36596203.post-76991968247735297542014-01-14T20:41:54.129-08:002014-01-14T20:41:54.129-08:00Just because there were one or two decent songs fr...Just because there were one or two decent songs from the 80s . . . and technically this one is from 1976.
